Export Barbados (BIDC) joins the Caribbean region in celebrating the life of the late Sir Shridath Ramphal, a towering figure in international diplomacy. He was the longest-serving Commonwealth Secretary-General, the first Director-General of the Caribbean Regional Negotiating Machinery, now the CARICOM Office of Trade Negotiations, and a steadfast advocate for justice, regional integration, and development.

Sir Shridath’s unparalleled dedication to the Caribbean region and his influential role on the global stage have left an indelible mark on our history. From his pivotal contributions to the Commonwealth and CARICOM to his relentless efforts in championing the rights of small states, Sir Shridath exemplified the true spirit of leadership.

His legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of those he has touched, and his influence will continue to shape the future of our region for generations to come.
