Export Barbados and Invest Barbados sign MOU with Guyana’s Go-Invest 

Export Barbados (BIDC) participated in the International Energy Conference and Expo held in Guyana this week. The Corporation mounted a booth at the Expo and used the opportunity to enlighten patrons about the various products and services that Barbadian businesses offer to the world. 

The occasion also served as the backdrop for the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Guyana Office for Investment (Go-Invest) and two Barbados agencies – Export Barbados and Invest Barbados. The MOU was signed on Tuesday, February 15. CEO of Go-Invest, Dr. Peter Ramsaroop represented Guyana, while CEO of Export Barbados (BIDC), Mark Hill, and CEO of Invest Barbados, Kaye-Anne Brathwaite, represented Barbados. 

The MOU will help deepen relations between the two countries regarding investment and trade. CEO Hill said through the MOU, Export Barbados is looking forward to pursuing various projects in the short, medium, and long term with Guyana, in such areas as gold, biomass, and technology. Meanwhile, CEO Brathwaite anticipates that there will be numerous opportunities for Barbados and Guyana, adding that the aim is to foster partnerships and relationships in various sectors across the two nations.
